Knowledge management is a key success factor of PFT. In 2002,
our IT professionals supported by the management team completed
a comprehensive review on our key processes. The review and recommendations
helped us re-engineer the business processes and develop a new
ERP system to cope with the development and growth of PFT.
First phase of our new ERP system was launched in June of 2003.
The system was developed using the latest 3-tier architecture
and all users can access the system through web browsers. It
was designed to be a highly specialized system serving the memory
manufacturing industry. It is not only limited to the standard
accounting and MRP functions but it also integrates functions
in the management of ordering, consignment, product database
and engineering activities.
One of the many outstanding features of our system is the highly
integrated SPD management function. We can handle a wide variety
of SPD contents no matter whether they are standard or machine
specific or customer consigned. As soon as a production order
is placed in our system, the correct SPD content will be automatically
downloaded to the right SPD programmers in our plant to program
the finished memory modules. No technical setup is required
so that we can minimize lead time and, most important of all,
avoid human errors.
Our new ERP is adding new functions as time goes by with one
purpose in mind: to enable PFT to be customer-focused and to
offer cost-effective solutions to our customers as a strategic
partner.
